Mission Statement

It is the mission of Cypress Christian School, working in partnership with parents and the church, to educate students with a strong biblical worldview; academically, physically, and emotionally to excel in the use of the gifts God has bestowed on them.

Vision Statement

Graduates of Cypress Christian School will demonstrate that life is a process of continual growth relative to their ability.

They will serve God through all of their gifts and abilities, making the most of the resources available to them.

GRADE LEVELS

Elementary: Kindergarten - Grade 5
Middle School: Grades 6 - 8

SCHOOL DAY

8:15am - 12:15pm Half Day Kindergarten
8:15am - 3:00pm K and First Grade
8:15am - 3:15pm Grades 2 - 4
8:15am - 3:25pm Grades 5 - 8

We offer a Before / After School Program starting at 7:00am and ending at 6:00pm.

ACCREDITATION

CCS is fully accredited by ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International).

STATE STANDARDS

CCS exceeds the academic requirements mandated by the State Board of Education and is chartered by the State of Ohio. Our students participate in several norm-referenced assessments to ensure we are achieving at our highest level, not only locally, but on a national level.

FACULTY

All members of the faculty are dedicated Christians holding valid teaching licenses to teach in the State of Ohio. Teaching staff of Cypress Christian School are in compliance with the Ohio Department of Education by having current FBI and BCI background checks on file. Non-teaching staff background checks are performed by our HR Coordinator upon hiring and then are required by the Ohio Department of Education to be updated every 5 years thereafter. Volunteer background checks are performed annually through a ministry service.

CURRICULUM

Our curriculum is based on the classical model and is designed to give students a solid foundation for a quality Christian liberal arts education. The curriculum includes all the basic academic subjects and the following enrichment classes: art, library, music, band, choir, computer technology, and physical education.

TECHNOLOGY

Our goal is to enable students to succeed in a technology driven world. In conjunction with the 1:1 iPads in our school, CCS also utilizes online textbooks and a variety of educational apps to support student learning.

HIGH SCHOOL PREP

Middle school students can earn up to two high school credits and many have gone on to top high schools in the area and excelled in both academics and athletics.

TUTORIAL / ENRICHMENT

CCS is committed to assisting students who need remediation or acceleration in reading and math. Qualified teachers are available to implement these programs.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Students in grades K-8 have a weekly chapel with special guest speakers from all over central Ohio and beyond. Students may also participate in A.C.S.I. activities such as speech meet, Math by Mail competition, spelling bee, and creative writing.

Middle school athletic teams include basketball, volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, track and cross country.
